Cymbalsmith Training Camp

NickyMoon Custom Cymbals is offering the very first in-person cymbal smith training camp experience, at their location in north eastern Pennsylvania. This is an on-site masterclass with world renowned independent cymbal maker Nick Margarite, owner and craftsman of NickyMoon Custom Cymbals. Stay for 1-4 days and immerse yourself in learning the craft from America’s cymbal master himself, NickyMoon.

 

Nick has traveled all over the world studying cymbal making, and had learned from artisans and masters in Istanbul Turkey, Samsun Turkey, Brazil and the United States. He has 12 years of experience and is known for making some of the best cymbal in the world. This course is open to all levels, from new beginners to intermediate and advanced cymbal makers who wish to improve and hone their skills.

 

Course includes a personalized hammer from Nick, and top quality B20 cymbal blanks to use during training and keep (# of blanks depends on length of stay). Course covers assembling, making and modifying tools for cymbal making, basic theory, shaping, tuning and tensioning via hand hammering and lathing. Also finish work, edging, project planning and time management will be covered.
