This Clover is incredibly unique and took an unbelievably long time to get to where it is now. We're talking over 4 weeks of fine tuning. The profile is unlike anything NM has ever made - it was formed with a new experimental method combining a china like process with a regular ride like process - as a way to capture the definition of a china's upper bow on a sweet sounding, light and warm cymbal. The profile is steep, sloping downward in a long, straight decline. A densely hammered band sits a few inches out from the bell, providing a nice firm sticking area for extra definition. The lower bow is very loose and crashes with zero effort. The pitch is high but sweet. The tone is even and it plays like a dream. Strong Mel Lewis vibes coming off of this one. Clovers are true one-of-a-kind pieces that exist in a class all of their own. 1786 grams.
